Apr. 17 Largest Lensless Telescope Nears Completion : Claimed ten times more powerful than any other in existence, a radio telescope, started in 1952, is nearing completion at Jodrell Bank, Cheshire, England. Being built for Manchester University for the exploration of the skies by radio astronomy, the lensless telescope will have a copper mesh bowl of 30 long tons supported by two 180 ft, towers.
