Apr. 17 The radios Telescope Interferometer At The Royal Radar Establishment: The Ministry of Aviation has built at the Royal Radar Establishment a new installation for radio a astronomical and upper atmosphere research. The equipment, which is on the site of a former airfield at Defford, near Maltero, consist of two stoorable and mobile radio telescopes with parabolic reflectors which can be used either separateness or in conjunction as an interferometer, the radio telescopic can be operated over ab wid3 range of wavelengths own to a few centimeters, and their spacing can be varied up to about 1, 000 meters in any orientation for interferometric observation of high angular resolution. The serials can be used both as radiometers for the reception of radio omission and also with transmitters for radar astronomy.
