Jan. 01, 1967 - New Raditoxologic Pavilion: A new radictoxologic pavilion was opened in the research institute for the Hygiene of radiation in Prague. It is destined for experimental work with radioactive substances used on animals. Scientists try tofine here with greatest accuracy the cinetics of radioisotopes and their effect on the human body. The Prague radiotoxologic pavilion is one of the best equipped scientific research institutes of this kind in Europe. In view of the fact that open alpha and beta radiators are used every precaution is taken to safeguard research workers from radioactive contamination. The pavilion is divided into three tones according to the risk involved in working there. Air conditioning and sction equipments ensure the suitable air pressure and make air flow from the more risky zone to the less risky one impossible. Places where it may be anticipated that regularly radioactive contamination arises are hermetically sealed and exhausted air is being filtered. Photo Shows: Glass metabolic cages ensure the safety of work even when very dangerous radioactive substances are used for experiments with little laboratory animals
