Jan. 01, 1971 - After an interruption of almost 19 years the telephone connection between East and West-Berlin will again be started on Sunday, January 31st, 1971. The 10 telephone lines granted by the German Demooratio Republic (DDR) are not at all sufficient, however, many people from Berlin will have the opportunity to phone their friends and relatives at the other part of the city. The calls are being directed over Potsdam and are thus out of town'. Ops: A telephone operator at the telegraph office in West-Berlin(recently two-Officers from the DDR had been there to discuss technical details) from where a telephone connection with East-Berlin (over Potsdam) will be possible within a few days
