Oct. 30, 1972 - October 30th 1972 New push button telephone - One of the items on show at the Management and Engineering Design Exhibition, held at The Design Centre, is a new push-button telephone, developed by Pye TMC Ltd It replaces dialling by press button signalling, thus reducing the risk of error; it has a memory which stores ten frequently used numbers of up to 18 digits each which can then be dialled automatically by pressing only two buttons; and it remembers the last number called so that, if it is engaged, it can be tried again any number of times by operating Just one button.
