Nov. 11, 1973 - HOTEL INSTALLS THUMBPRINT MACHINE.: A thumbprint machine for people paying their bill by cheque, has been installed at the Central Park Hotel, Paddington. Called the Identicator, makes visible a thumbprint placed by the guest on the back of the cheque after it has been signed. It is claimed the machine will cut the number of cheque frauds which cost hotels and shops thousands of pounds each year.
