Coronation pageant rehearsal, Meadle, Buckinghamshire
Feb. 29 Medieval England comes alive again as little Jean Rogers as a Lady In Waiting leads Queen Elizabeth I Ursula Moore with her pages and Yeomen of the Guard, during the Pageant rehearsal at Meadle, Bucks. Cattle get a preview of Village's Coronation Tableau: Meadle, Bucks, is holding a Coronation Carnival on June 6th and one of the tableaux to be included depicts Queen Elizabeth I with her ladies in waiting, pages and Yeomen of the Guard. All the parts are being taken by children and the ladies of the village have all co-operated in making the costumes from odd scraps of material. Playing the part of the Queen is pretty 13-year-old Ursula Moore. While crossing a field on their way to a rehearsal the children found their way barred by inquisitive cows eager to get a preview of the tableau
