Mar. 03, 1973 - Panama and Peru Submit to Security Council Call For New Canal Treaty: Panama and Perry submitted this afternoon a draft resolution asking the Security Council to call on Panama and the United States to accoutered promptly a new Panama Canal treaty, respecting Panams Sovereignty in all its territory and ensuring reintegration of the So-called Canal Zone with the rest of the country. The draft resolution was introduced by the Foreign Minister of Panama, Juan Antonio Tack, at the meeting in Panama city as the Council continued consideration of measure for the maintenance and strengthening of international peace and security in Latin America in conformity with the provisions and principals of the Charter'. Speakers at the meeting, in addition to the Foreign Minister of Panama, were the Foreign Minister of Venezuela and Uosta Rica and the representative of Jamaica, Urguay, Bolivia and Guatemala.
