1957 - COUNT BASIE AND HIS JAZZ BAND AT FESTIVAL HALL, London. COUNT BASIE the American pianist and his band attended the Royal Festival Hall this afternoon. Count Basie has been America's leading jazzman for the past twenty years and is here for a three weeks tour. This is the first visit of an all black American band since Duke Ellington came here twenty three years ago.
