Crimes - Criminals - Judges - Lawyers - Trials

Sep. 09, 1954 - M.P. named in faked dollars case. Commander Harry Pursey: Lillian Maria Adler (81) who says she is Baroness Huszar of Hungary and who claims to have been married to Commander Harry Pursey, Socialist M.P. for Hull was held in jail at Montreal last night after failing to raise £1, 785 bail on a charge of possessing £570 worth of counterfeit U.S. Money. She was arrested on Monday night when she tried to buy a £430 fur coat with some of the counterfeit money it was alleged. At yesterday's hearing the Judge said I have been told by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that she claims that the counterfeit money was given her by her husband before he left for England. In Hull yesterday Commander Pursey refused to comment on the marriage claim. Photo shows Commander Harry Pursey
