Aug. 08, 1953 - £600, 000 Jewel robbery from Cathedral alleged.: An 18-year-old Spanish student is accused of stealing jewellery worth £600, 000 from Selville Cathedral, Spain, it was stated at Bow Street today. The student, Emilio Garcia Gomez, staying at Regent's Park Terrace, Garden Town, was remanded in custody on a provisional extradition warrant accusing him of the theft. Mr. J.H. player, defending asked for bail. He said that Gomes was the son of a mistrate and property owner in Seville. he had qualified as an officer in the Spanish merchant navy.
