Feb. 02, 1954 - Ronald Chesney found dead in Wood near Cologne. His mother - who was murdered 27 years ago.: Ronald John Chesney, 45 year old smuggler, Swashbuckler- and International roque - shot himself in a wood outside cologne, Germany, yesterday. For the first time he was openly named as the suspected murderer of his wife Mrs. Isobel Veronica Chesney - and of her mother self-styled Lady Menzies who were found dead in thier old folk's home at Montpelier road, Ealing, last Thursday. it was also made known - that he stood trial twenty seven years ago - under - under his own name of John Donald Merrett - for the murder of his mother Mrs. Bertha Merrett- at wgich a verdict of not proven was found. Photo shows Mrs. Bertha Merrett - for whose murder - her son John Donald Merrett ( who change his name later to Ronald john Chesney) was tried and released twenty seven years ago
