Aug. 08, 1953 - Rifles and Bombs Hidden in Van More serious charges to be brought.: The Police intend to bring a more serious charge against three men now on remand accused of being in possession of firearms - it was stated when they made their second appearances at Bishops Starford, Herbs. Today, Manus Canning (27) of Londonderry; Cathal Goulding (31) of Rathfranham, Co. Dublin and Sean Stephenson (25) of no fixed addressed were all remanded in custody. It was alleged that they were found at 3-20 a.m. in Bishops Strotford conveying 108 rifles, eight Bren guns, 15 Bren gun magazines, tan sten guns, Once Piat Mortar, One Brewing Machines Gun, one 2 in, Morter and 6 two inch mortar bombs.
