Jul. 07, 1954 - JURY SETS FREE A SON WHO KILLED HIS FATHER VISITS HIS MOTHER IN HOSPITAL AFTER AQUITTAL. Terro wak=lked with the Boorman family all their lives.It was the terror of James Boorman, head of the family and a man of uncontrollable temper.He beat his wife and children brutally, he smashed the furniture until their home looked poverty stricken.Then one evening his son turned on him.There was a struggle.James Boorman died.The son was Victor, aged 21, and at the Old Bailey yesterday he gave evidence about the struggle.The jury stopped the case and returned a verdict of Not Guilty and the judge directed that Victor Boorman be discharged.He left the court and went to Mike End Hospital to tell the news to his mother.
