Oct. 10, 1955 - Daylight curfew on Famagusta after shooting of R.A.F. Officer; Famagusta, the second biggest town in Cyprus was under a daylight curfew on Friday following the shooting of an R.A.F. officer, and the wrecking of the police station by a bomb. There were many arrests of curfew breakers who were brought into the compound by British troops at the point of the bayonet.
