Sep. 09, 1956 - Thirty - Six People Accused In Cockfighting Case: Thirty six people were charged at Chester yesterday - with having been concerned in cockfighting at the Christleton, near Chester farm of Mr. William Fearnley Williamson - owner of the Grand National winner (1949) Russian Hero. Mr. Williamson was accused of permitting the farm to be used for cockfighting. Photo Shows:- Miss Marguerita Wenger who lives at Trentham, near Stoke-on-Trent-daughter of a wealthy pottery manufacturer - and who inherited250, 000 when he died - is one of the accused. Miss Wenger is alleged to have hid under a pile of hay - when the farm was raided by police and emerged after 55 minutes
