Jul. 07, 1956 - Gunmen raid a London Bank: Five bank officials were attacked, bound and gagged by two armed bandits in a hold-up at a London Bank this morning.The raid was at Barclay's Bank in Church road, Willesden. One by one the staff were ambushed an tied up as they arrived to start work. The bandits were foiled by the bank manager Mr. L. B. Howell who although gagged and threatened at gunpoint, bluffed and raiders and saved £10, 000 in the strong room. After an hour, the bandits fled empty handed.
