Dec. 12, 1956 - Twelve years Hell ends for 28 years old Peter Freed by the high courts: Twenty-eight year old Peter Whitehead was given his freedom yesterday by Lord Chief Justrice Lord Goddard. For twelve years Peter and had been detained in Ramptio Hospital, Retford, Notts-a place for mental defectives of dangerous and violent tendencies. Father contended that he was never a mental defective. He claimed that when he complained about his Illegal detention-he was made to serub floors for eight hours a day fourteen days.
