Jul. 07, 1957 - Thirty Year old German Taken to Chelsea Police Station Murdered Policeman Investigation.: It was announced this afternoon that thirty year old Guenter Fritz Erwin Podola - whom the police wanted interview in their inquiries into the murder of Det. Sgt. Raymond Purdy - has been taken to Chelsea Police Station for interview.A picture of Podola was received in London today from Canada. Podola was deported from Canada 12 month ago. He is of German origin Sgt. Purdy was shot when he and a colleague had made an arrest in South Kensington on Monday while investigating a blackmailing telephone call case. The arrested man shot Purdy and managed to get away. Photo shows Guenter Fritz Erwin Podola who has been taken to Chelsea Police Station
