Dec. 12, 1957 - Sensational trial in Hildesheim: The principal defendant of a trial which started yesterday (Dec 10, 1957) at the jury-court in Hildesheim, Dr. Gerhard Brennecke, is no more alive. In the dock are sitting his wife Ruth Brennecke and her daughter DORIS. The mother is accused of manslaughter and the daughter attempted manslaughter. Dr. Brennecke who was a drug-addict, gambler and drinker, had sadistically tortured for years his family because of his mean character and his vices, until they were not able to bear it any more and had been driven to kill him. Wife and daughter had been aided by his - now already deceased mother-in-law, who had hit Dr. Brennecke with an electric iron - the other weapons were a wine-bottle and an umbrella.
