Dec. 12, 1957 - Atonement for the murder of own mother: At the Jury-court of Berlin-Moabit started the murder trail against the couple Gerda and Erwin Haberland on December 9, 1957. They are both accused to have murdered the mother of Gerda Haberland, 64year old Frida Janike on April 13, 57.Gerda had supposed that her mother was in the possession of a large sum of money. In fact they found only German Marks 400 (approx. US Dollars 100) after they had committed this brutal deed. Afterwards the couple fled to Bavaria. When they were apprehended they confessed to the murder. Photo Shows Gerda Haberland, 31, and her husband Erwin Haberland, 28, in the dock.
