Feb. 25 Australian Cliff-Top drama. Wife's plea stops husband committing suicide.: While a husband stood on the other side of a safety fence just a few yards from a 200 ft. drop to death - at the Gap, Watson's Bay, Coogec, Australia - his wife pleaded with his - not to commit suicide. She talked with him for five hours - and said For God's sake don't do it'. Once durint the tense drama - a policeman jumped from behind the wife and touched her husband's shoulder. The man ran to the edge of the cliff, swayed momentarily and throw up his arms and fell back to safety - and shouted - Don't come any closer or I'll go over. I have to do it'. During the five hours, before he climbed over the safety fence to join his wife, the man - Called for his solicitor and made a will; Accepted got tea and cigarettes I wrote a letter to his stepdaughter and borrowed a torch to peer over the brink - for he wanted to see if rock of the sea was immediately below.
