Jun. 09, 1955 - The Perfect Butler Goes to Prison for six years: Rodwell Clifford Patience, 5-a week butler who would have inherited his master's estate and become Squire and Lord of the Manor of Diddington, in Huntingdonshire - was sentenced to six years jail for theft for his part in a conspiracy to steal heirlooms of the Thornhill family. Patience could not wait to inherit under the will of his master, Captain Noel Thornhill. He was heir to 11, 000, 650 a year for life, three motor cars and the wardrobe of his master.
