Dec. 12, 1958 - Sir Percy Spenier, one of the Judges of the International Court: Portrait of Sir Percy Spender (Australia), one of the fifteen judges of the International Court of Justice. The judge are elected for nine year terms of office by the General Assembly and the Security Council voting independently. Sir Percy was elected in October 1957 and took office in February of this year. He was one of the two members appointed. (Three incumbent judges were re-elected). Was President of the Court when the South West Africa case was finally decided upon in July 1966
