Nov. 11, 1959 - Former Woman Cabinet Minister Held In Connection Of Shooting Of Ceylon Premier: Police investigating the shooting of the Ceylon Premier, Solomon Bandaranaike, today arrested a former Cabinet Minister, Mrs. Vimala Wijewardene. They also arrested Dick de Zoysa, brother of the Finance Minister and of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police. The arrests followed a statement by Somarama Thero, the Buddhist monk alleged to have assassinated Mr.Bandaran aike. 51-year old Mrs. Wijewardene was Ceylon's first woman Cabinet Minister.
