Policeman Shot in Siege: A policeman was shot in the back by a rifle bullet today, in a two-hour siege at a house in Woodlands Rise, Muswell Hill, Nth. London. Police went to the house after an underworld tip that they would find a woman who had escaped from Holloway jail. When they approached her room she locked the door, and then opened a large window of the room. Shots were fired at a plain cliches police constable outside in the street. The girl then appeared at the window with a 22 rifle, and a newspaper photographer, Steve Davis, was able to grab the gun, after asking the girl if he could take a photograph of her.
