Apr. 18 May 21ST: Start of Trial Against Leading Members of Baader/Meinhof Group in Stuttgart On May 21st 1975, the proceedings against four leading members of the Baader/Meinhof group will start in Stuttgart. About 500 witnesses and expert witnesses will be heard during this trial which will take between 6 and 18 months. The defendants, Ulrike Meinhof (Journalist, 40), Andreas Baader (31), Gudrun Ensslin (Teacher, 31) and Jan-Carl Raspe (Sociologist, 30) are accused of having killed 4 persons and the attempted killing of 54 persons by several bomb attempts throughout West-Germany, several bank robberies and the formation of a criminal association.
