Apr. 16 The Uaa hijacked plane Cairo, September 21 mena 1970 an Egyptian plane carrying thirty three French Citizens, seven Belgian and five Arabs landed in Cairo safely after an attempt to hijack it was nipped in the bud. The plane an Antonov belonging to United Arab airlines was on its regular flight from Luxor, upper Egypt, to Cairo last night when Egyptian passenger Sayed Seif El Nasr broke into the captain's cockpit and under the threat of gun point and dagger5 asked him to proceed to Saudi Arabia. However, a security man aboard the aircraft overcome the would-be hijacker and the plane headed to Luxor airport where Seif El Nasr was arrested Photo shows the UAA Antonov while landing at Cairo airport after the hijacking attempt failed
