Aug. 08, 1961 - GUNMAN SHOOTS COUPLE IN CAR A gunman hitched a lift from a couple in a grey Morris at Slough last night. A few hours later, as the car reached a lay-by near Clophill, Bedford, he shot the man dead and seriously wounded the woman. He then dumped them in a ditch and drove off. Police are still hunting for the gunman. PHOTO SHOWS: A canvas screen on the left covers the spot where the couple were dumped from the car
