Sep. 12, 1961 - Teenagers Meet Death on a Date Man Charged With Murder - A Moonlight walk to a lovers glade after a church services ended in death for two teenage Sweethearts. Their bodies were found floating in a dyke yesterday. They were reported missing by their parents at midnight on Sunday - four hours after they set out for their walk from Emmanuel Baptist CHurch at Gravesend, Kent, Last night a 28-year-old carpenter's mate, Edwin Sims, of Hampton Cresent, Gravesend, was chaarged with murdering the girl, 15-year-old Lilian Edmeades, whose naked body was found face-down in the water of the dyke by a boy fishig for eels. Seven hours later the body of her 16-year-old boy friend, Malcolm Johnson, was found by a frogman-submerged a few yards away.
