Sep. 12, 1961 - Meet death on a date man charged with murder: A moonlight walk to a lovers glade after a church service ended in death for two teenage sweethearts. Their bodies were found floating in a dyke yesterday. They were reported missing by their parents at midnight on Sunday - four hours after they set out for their walk from Emmanuel Baptist Church at Gravesend, Kant. Last night's 28-year-old carpenter's mate, Edwin Sims, of Hampton Cresent, Gravesend, was charged with murdering the girl, 15-year-old Lilian Edmeades, whose naked body was found face-down in the water of the dyke by a boy fishing for eels. Seven hours later the body of her 16-year-old boy friend, Malcoim Johnson, was a found by a frogman - submerged a few yards away.
