Jun. 06, 1961 - Police Inspector Shot Dead - Two Others Wounded Police Inspector Philip Pawsey (40) was shot dead - and Sgt. S.G. Hutchins (49) and Police constable C. Fox (38) were both wounded - when a man ran amok with a gun - in Tennyson Road, West Ham - this afternoon. A;; available police reinforcements - including patrol cars were rushed to the area.
