Feb. 02, 1963 - Fight to save Girl Bandit. A cable from London has asked the Sultan of Perak in Malaya to stay the execution of a 25 years old Chinese Girl, Lee Ten Tai, under sentence of death for banditry. The cables, which was sent by the girl's legal advisers, was one of several moves which it was hoped would secure a last minutes reprieve. Lee Ten Tai, alias Bandit Lee Meng, was condemned to death for carrying a grenade in Malaya between 1928 and 1951. Lords Asquith, Porter and Tucker, of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, had dismissed the woman's petition to appeal to the Privy Council. Photo Shows: The condemned woman - Lee Ten Tai
