Dec. 12, 1963 - Auschwitz triall opened in Frankfurt: 22 former SS-men are facing court in West Germany's biggest war crimes trial. they are accused to have joint in the murder of an estimated 21/2 million people in the Auschwitz extermination camp. The trail, which is held in the Frankfurt city Hall, is expected to last 8 months.
