May 05, 1962 - Chelsea Cafe Raided - In Search For Drugs. Nearly five hundred customers were searched - when police made a raid on the Cafe des Artistes - in Chelsea - in search for drugs. More than four hundred names were taken and six have been charged with possessing dangerous drugs - one with possessing an offensive weapon - and one with obstruction.
