Nov. 11, 1960 - Sensation at tower bridge.. Man says he intends to dive from the top. There was a sensation this afternoon at Tower bridge - when a man climbed from ground level to the upper supports of Tower bridge - saying that it was intention to dive from the top into to river. Police were soon on the spot - and with the aid of loud bailer - pursuaded him to come down - as diving into the river would probably mean certain death. A fire engine escape was used to get him to the ground and into the arms of the law. He is Mr. Johnny Sanger Photo shows:- Looking up at Johnny Sanger - high up on the bridge supports today
