Nov. 11, 1960 - Linda's Mother Pleads to Attend Funeral. 24 years old Mrs. Doreen Jeffs, burst into tears yesterday as a detective inspector told magistrates that he had charged her at 2 a.m. with the murder of her three week old daughter, Linda, she was remanded in custody untl December5th. Last night, while Mrs. Jeffs was in the hospital wing of Holloway Prison, London, her legal advisers were considering asking the Home Secretary to allow Mrs. Jeffs to attend funeral of Linda. She was found dead in her arm in Hartfield gardens, Eastbourne, on November 22nd. After the hearing, Mrs. Jeffs husband, 27 year old butcher's manager, spent more than 30 minutes with his wife at police headquarters.
