Jul. 07, 1964 - The strangler is nearly Lynched: A wild mob almost lynched Lucien Leger who confessed yesterday of having strangled Luc Taron, a 10-year old boy, and of having written numerous letters to the Police and the Press with the signature of The Strangler'. Yesterday evening, Lucien Leger was transferred to Versailles where he had a talk with the judge. When Leger arrived, about 600 people were waiting near the Palals de justice and when he came out of the police car, cries of To Death were heard; the policemen had trouble preventing Lucien Leger from being assaulted by the mob. photo shows Handcuffed to two police inspectors, Lucien Legercomes out of the car which is surrounded by a mob (which includes some babies) in front of the Versailles Palals de justice
