Feb. 02, 1967 - Cadco Man On Trial In Lausanne: Thomas Roe, 49, one-time Chairman of the ill-fated Cadco and Royal Victoria Sausages Ltd, admitted in Court in Lausanne, Switzerland, yesterday: I have misappropriated a total of about 70, 000 of money entrusted to me by international people, including Britons, to invest for them in business'. Roe gave this figure in reply to the presiding judge's charge: You have misappropriated about 90, 000 in the course of your activities in Switzerland as financial adviser and investor'. Roe, accused of charges ranging from fraud to selling forged American dollar notes, faces a maximum sentence of 15 years imprisonment if found guilty on all charges.
