Crimes - Criminals - Judges - Lawyers - Trials

Jun. 01, 1969 - June 1st 1969- Knife man with his Two Young children defies police siege for ten hours. A man armed with two knives barricaded himself and his two young daughters in a room in a house in Ayrsome Road, stoke Newington, London, yesterday, and defied 20 policemen who tried to remove him. The siege began at 10-30 A.M. when the police surrounded the house after neighbours saw 36- year old West Indian, Clarence Munroe, waving knives from an upstairs window. But last night after an all day siege in which five policemen were injured, the man was removed from the house after a doctor had given him a sleeping drug. Photo shows this was the scene outside the house during the siege yesterday
