Jun. 06, 1969 - Panaghoulis recaptured in Athens. Alexandros Panaghoulis, who escaped from a military prison near Athens last Friday, was recaptured by security forces while hiding in an Athens flat. Panaghoulis, who was condemned to death on two counts - of desertion and sedition after an attempt to kill Mr.Papadopoulos, the Prime Minister, with a bomb last summer, had his execution stayed indefinitely by order of the Prime Minister.
