Sep. 09, 1970 - Jumbo jet blown up at Cairo: Passengers from a hi-jacked pan American jumbo jet fled barefoot across Cairo airport as a blast from nine time bombs shattered and burned out the aircraft shortly after it landed there today. Airport officials said two people suffered broken legs and other superficial injuries as the 152 passengers tumbled down emergency exits of the giant jet after the Palestinian hijackers warned them to get out fast. Photo shows The charred tail unit of a pan Am Boeing 747 jumbo jet is all that remains after hijacked had destroyed it with bombs at Cairo airport today. The 175 passengers and crew had just time to escape before it blew up
