Jul. 07, 1970 - Passengers allowed to leave skyjacked plane: Greece agreed on Wednesday to release seven Arab commandos held in Greek jails after Arab guerrillas skyjacked a Greek airliner bound from Beirut to Athens and threatened to blow it up with its 59 passengers and crew at Athens airport. The six guerrillas, armed with machine guns and hand grenades, allowed the 53 passengers to leave the Boeing 727, owned by Mr. Aristotle Onassis's Olympic Airways, after eight hours of bargaining. The plane later took off. Photo shows this was the scene at Athens Airport where the Boeing 727 was isolated in the far corner of the airport
