Dec. 12, 1971 - Assassination attempt on Jordanian Ambassador : An attempt was made to assassinate the Jordanian Ambassador in London, Mr. Zaid Rifai, as he drove to his embassy in Kensington yesterday. Mr. Rifai was wounded in the right hand when a man with a sub-machine gun fired about 30 shots at the Ambassador's chauffeur - driven Daimler near the embassy.
