Jun. 06, 1969 - Knife Man With His Two Young Children Defies Police Siege For Ten Hours: A man armed with two knives barricaded himself and his two young daughters in a room in a house in Ayrsome Road, Stoke Newington, London, yesterday, and defied 20 policemen who tried to remove him. The siege began at 10-30 am when police surrounded the house after neighbours saw 36-year-old West Indian, Clarence Munroe, waving knives from a an upstairs window. But last night, after an all day siege in which five policemen were injured, the man gave in after a doctor had give him a sleeping drug.
