Jan. 28, 1972 - Silver Bullion stolen from train: ?35, 000 worth silver bullion was stolen from an international freight train bound for Rome on Wednesday night. The raid was discovered when the train, which was carrying silver valued at ?250, 000, made a scheduled stop at Hither Green, in south London, and it was noticed that one of the doors in the bullion wagon was open about nine inches and customs and railway seals were broken.
