Aug. 08, 1973 - Chairman of investigation committee in Steiner bribery case, Professor Schafer heard as a witness: The members of this committee, belonging to the Christian Democratic Union Party, have asked to hear Schafer (our picture) as a witness. The professor has been accused of having admitted in a news paper interview to have known already on the day of the vote of no-confidence against Chancellor Willy Brandt, that the incrminated Julius Steiner, former Member of Parliament (Christian Democratic Union Party) had not voted for his own party leader Rainer Barzel. Professor Schafer (Social Democratic Party) admitted in this hearing to have known this fact.
