Sep. 09, 1972 - Begin of the Mahler - Trial in Berlin: October 9th 1972 will be the begin of the trial against Horst Mahler, sympathizer of the Beader-Meinhof - group, who is accused of having backed up the group and of bank robbery with some of the group members. The security measures for this trial against the former lawyer are impressing; about 100 policemen with machine guns and walky talkies will try to avoid incidents the windows of the court room are going to be bricked, Mahler as well as his advocate will sit behind bullet proof glass during the trial. The trial is said to last several months and also Ulrike Meinhof and Andreas Baader, the heads of the former group, will be brought to Berlin. Photo shows the bricklayers at work
