May 05, 1974 - Thwarted Bank Gunmen Take Hostages. Gunmen who had failed in an attempt. to raid a bank at Champigny, a Paris suburb where Mrs. Lacheteau was looking after her five children and held them hostage. Later they came out of the house with Mrs. Lachetau and her son Bruno, and drove off in a car provided by the police. Later the hostages were released in a wood near Paris.
