1976 - Film Producer and wife arrested on a smuggling charge: Film Producer Leslie Berens and his wife Henriette yesterday appeared in court in Dover charged with smuggling and were given £27, 000 bail. Four people were in court charged with smuggling £170, 000 in British banknotes, Two women Yvonne Ceuleers, and her graddaughter Marrianne Verstappen were remanded in custody for one week, They were arrested as they were about to cross the channel at Dover and later Berens and his wife were arrested at their flat in London and driven to Dover to answer question.
